The DIY Woodshop Team

The DIY Woodshop has a diverse, experienced management team with a passion for woodworking. Many of the team members have worked together and/or known each other for years.

Deborah Giudicessi, Owner/President

Deborah has over 25 years of management experience, and has owned & operated successful businesses. Several years of woodshop classes, building decks and a variety of projects makes this a perfect fit. She has extensive experience in sales, marketing (including design of marketing materials), procedure development, staff training, management, heading up events, presentations, planning & zoning, customer service, document/contract creation and much more. Since she was young, she has had a passion for designing and building projects. Having been raised a tomboy and country girl, she is not afraid to get her hands dirty (and loves every minute of it).

Brad Darrah, Shop Manager

Brad has over 35 years experience in construction and remodeling, majority of it owning a successful business: everything from small projects to building and remodeling multi-million dollar homes from top to bottom. A sample of his custom work includes toys, cabinetry, build-ins, wood curving, spiral and curve staircases, furniture, millwork, flooring, secret rooms, bars and wine racks, and entertainment centers. He has trained many employees in every aspect of building and woodworking and is a very creative perfectionist on all of his projects. He knows his stuff and it shows in the details of his work. Those qualities, along with his fun nature, will be a major driving force in our success.

Bob McCall, Shop Foreman

Bob is an innovative and driven professional with over 18 years of experience in positions of responsibility and management.  He is the Owner/Operator of Summit Property Solutions and specializes in framing/finish carpentry with ability to create unique, customized designs by combining various design styles. He also has experience with performing residential and commercial construction/remodeling including but not limited to installation and repairs for drywall, electrical wiring, plumbing, framing and floor repairs. In his spare time, Bob has volunteered at the City Union Mission to feed homeless, volunteered at the Anchor House aiding men recovering from substance addictions, managed neighborhood cleanup day for his local community and enjoyed assisting in coaching youth football and youth mentoring.

Jim Adams, Director of Facilities

Jim has over 17 years of inventory and stockroom management. He also has over 25 years of equipment, parts/supply procurement & purchasing experience, 10 years of specialty product handling/shipping, as well as a year of facilities management experience. He developed a love of woodworking at a very early age, in his Great-Grandfather’s wood-shop, in Edgerton, KS. Growing up on a farm and around the wood-shop, brought years of experience with tools and equipment, of all types.

Nate Francis, Director of Operations

Nate’s journey into woodworking started in a one car garage with minimal tools and grew into a hobby that he loves. He brings to the team over 10 years of management and customer service along with an unbridled passion for woodworking and guiding others.

James Middien, Shop Coordinator

Ever since James can remember, he has been building. His introduction to woodworking came over 10 years ago working with family and that eventually moved into professional remodeling and construction for several years. His skills aren’t just confined to wood either. Years working with solid surface materials, automotive, and electronics help rounds out our team.

Rick Godsil, Director of Marketing

Rick has over 25 years of experience marketing in the Kansas City area.  In addition to working in the financial industry Rick had owned several businesses from an organic orchard to retail hydraulic parts.  He began woodworking 40 years ago in a rural part of Illinois and primarily learned traditional Amish-style craftmanship from his very large farming family.  In the past 20 years he has owned Wagon Wheel Orchard west of Olathe where he and his four children continue to woodwork and blacksmith in traditional methods.  An avid networker, you may meet him in person at your next coffee or ribbon cutting.
